Our Mission Statement

We work to provide respectful land stewardship services to benefit the community, the earth and all its creatures. Integrating years of experience and knowledge in food production, landscape design and installation, tree-care and herbal medicine, we offer a variety of services that empower people through meaningful connection with the land. We help raise awareness and understanding of local agriculture, health and nutrition topics through seasonally inspired workshops and classes.

Landscape Creations & Food Production

Edible Landscapes
Integrating vegetable gardening, perennial landscaping and herbal medicines, we create back-yard food production systems - gardens that are custom tailored to be diverse and abundant for you and your family with fresh vegetables & fruit, culinary & medicinal herbs, and beautiful flowers to attract and feed the native pollinators, butterflies and hummingbirds.

Low-Maintenance Perennial Landscapes
Self-sustaining perennial systems exhibit majestic and extraordinary native plants that create a harmonious and beautiful landscape throughout the year. We offer high-quality landscape installation services that draw on years of experience in the field and training in permaculture and ecological design. Plants are sourced from New England, hand-picked from an ever growing palette of edible and beneficial native species.

Low Mainteance

Stonecraft & Sacred Spaces
Stone creations and sacred spaces are integrated into the landscape. We build functional walls, walkways, and patios using various types of stone and natural building materials.

Myco-Inoculation
An abundance of culinary and medicinal mushroom species are available for backyard production. Tree are harvested at the appropriate time of year and processed properly to ensure the best environment in which to inoculate spores. One year from the inoculation time, flushes of culinary mushrooms begin to appear in the spring and fall seasons.

Tree Care & Arborist Services

Using the latest arboricultural techniques, we are dedicated to safe and efficient work practices while maintaining a great respect for the trees. Following ANSI and OSHA regulations, we utilize advanced technical rigging techniques to safely and confidently complete dangerous, unique and otherwise difficult jobs.

Pruning
Hazardous Tree Inspection & Pruning: We identify and remove dead wood, broken branches and hazardous limbs. This includes utility line clearance pruning and storm damage recovery. This is highly recommended as a cost effective way to care for the trees, ensuring peace of mind and safety for your family and property. Proper pruning mitigates entry points for disease into a tree, thus prolonging its life. We also prune fruit & ornamental trees with a delicate and precise art.

Removal
The complete takedown of trees is necessary at times for safety and property management. Practicing Earth-friendly arborist techniques, we climb and use hand saws to mitigate pollution and overall disturbance. We create solutions that make use of all tree parts on-site to reintegrate its accumulated nutrients back into the landscape – increasing soil fertility while reducing environmental impact and total cost of the removal. The wood is appropriately processed for various value-added products including: firewood rounds, milled lumber, mushroom log sections & various landscape creations. Chipping and total brush removal services are also available.

Non-Invasive Cabling
An alternative approach to invasive drilling and metal hardware cabling. Non-invasive cabling provides excellent support and is overall healthier for the tree. Tree Sections are braced together using dynamic cabling material that helps prevent damage from wind, ice, and snow loads. Unlike steel cable that does not stretch, this woven cable supplements the tree's strength by providing elastic bonds between sections to allow natural movement in the wind.
